comparison
Fuji X-Trans III Classic Chrome vs Kodak Kodachrome 64
Is Classic Chrome really Kodachrome?
The same photograph, same exposure, both looks at full strength. See the untouched original.
The difference
Fujifilm has never said so, and the comparison shows why the rumour persists and why it is not quite right. Both mute the palette and keep shadows heavy. But Kodachrome holds dense, dominant reds, while Classic Chrome pulls reds back with everything else and leans slightly cool. Classic Chrome is the documentary attitude of Kodachrome without its specific colour chemistry.
Which to use
Classic Chrome
Modern muted street and urban work.
Kodachrome 64
Period-accurate warmth and red response.
